About

Hello, my name is Allison Hughes.

Thank you for checking out my blog!  I am a registered nurse and mother of four, and have taken a strong interest in food as a way of healing my autoimmune disease.  I started posting pictures of my home-cooked meals on Instagram as a diet mindfulness exercise in 2016.  Friends and family began asking about my ingredients and recipes, and this blog was born as a way to share what I have learned.  I believe that what you eat is critical to good health, and should be delicious, too.  The food that I make is based on the principles of clean eating.  I use as many local and organic foods as possible.  I make dairy-free, grain-free (gluten-free) recipes that are typically compliant with the Autoimmune Paleo diet (with re-introductions).  I have categorized my recipes so that you can search for recipes that qualify as AIP, Paleo, or Whole 30.  Every body is different, and one of the most important things that I have learned is to pay attention to what your body is telling you.  Tune in to your body and feed it what it needs to thrive.  Eat food that loves you back.
